The recruitment process for standalone IMY3 programmes that was piloted for posts starting from August 2025 has been completed. The process was evaluated, and it has been decided that recruitment to IMY3 level will not continue as the level of interest does not justify proceeding.
At present, there will only be national recruitment to internal medicine training programmes at CT1-level, the process for which is detailed in this website. An alternative to applying at CT1-level is to apply direct to higher specialty training. Doctors considering this route will need to have sufficient experience and be able to complete an Alternative Certificate to Enter Higher Specialty Training for the level appropriate to their intended specialty. Potential applicants are advised to view the person specification for the specialties in which they are interested. The Physician Higher Specialty Training Recruitment website provides more information about the eligibility criteria, and is where alternative certificates can be downloaded.
