From 6 October 2019, all medical practitioners have been added to the Shortage Occupation List in the UK. This means that all medical practitioners are exempt from the Resident Labour Market Test (RLMT) and can apply for any specialty in any recruitment round, subject to eligibility.
However, the Medical Training (Prioritisation) Act means that applicants in prescribed categories will be given priority at both the shortlisting and offers stages. Details of the criteria to be given priority status can be found on the Medical Training Recruitment website.
Visa/immigration queries
The staff at the PSRO are NOT able to give advice relating to queries on immigration. We cannot give advice on whether your specific immigration status makes you eligible, how you can change your status, how to apply for different types of visa, etc.
